Arattai Is Now a Business Messaging Channel in Zoho CRM

Zoho CRM now supports Arattai as a business messaging channel, found under Setup, then Channels, then Business Messaging, alongside WhatsApp and LINE.

Early access: Currently available in the India data centre, enabled for partners and their demo accounts, with a phased release to customer accounts to follow.

What It Does

When a customer messages you on Arattai, you get a notification in Zoho CRM. You continue the conversation in the Messages module, where messages can be filtered and sorted.

  • If the number matches an existing lead or contact, the message is associated with it automatically. If it doesn't, CRM creates the record for you, as a lead or a contact, depending on your account preferences.
  • You respond from the same three-panel conversation view your team already uses for WhatsApp, with CRM context present in the third panel.
  • You can continue the conversation in the middle panel while simultaneously adding notes or scheduling calls in the right-hand panel.
  • Predefined text, merge fields, and attachments all work the same way they do on your existing channels.

Why It's Worth Setting Up

  • Live in minutes. Sign in with an Arattai Business Platform account, choose a number, decide who picks up unknown senders, and you're done.
  • No cost to reply. In this release, replying to customers doesn't consume messaging credits.
  • A 48-hour reply window. Enquiries that arrive over a weekend or holiday don't go cold before someone picks them up.
  • Zoho end to end. The messaging app, the platform, and the CRM all come from the same vendor. For detail on the Arattai platform itself, see arattaibusiness.in.

Getting Set Up

1. Create an Arattai Business Platform Account

Sign up at business.arattai.in.

Don't confuse the two: the Arattai Business site also offers a business app download. That's a separate product and does not work with this integration; you specifically need the Arattai Business Platform account, not the app.

2. Connect It to Zoho CRM

  1. Go to Setup, then Channels, then Business Messaging, click Details on the Arattai tile, then click Integrate.
  2. Sign in with your Arattai Business Platform account and accept the access request.
  3. Give the profile a nickname, and pick your company, account, and phone number.
  4. Choose whether unknown senders become leads or contacts, and who they're assigned to.
  5. Save.

Turning On Notifications

So your team knows when a customer writes in, go to Setup, then Experience Center, then Signals, select Incoming Messages under Business Messaging, and click Save.

Documentation: Zoho has indicated more detailed documentation will be published alongside the customer release.
