Audit Logs in Zoho One | Admin Activity Tracking & Security Compliance

Audit Logs in Zoho One

Audit Logs in Zoho One provide a chronological record of administrative actions carried out within the Admin Panel. They allow organisations to see who made changes, what was changed, and when, giving IT and compliance teams the transparency they need to maintain security standards and investigate any unexpected modifications to users, applications, or organisational settings.

What Audit Logs Capture

Audit Logs record a wide range of administrative events that occur within Zoho One, providing a traceable history of changes made at the organisational level.

  • User management actions: Adding, removing, or modifying user accounts, including changes to roles and group membership.
  • Application provisioning: Assigning or removing application access for individual users or groups.
  • Organisation settings changes: Updates to security policies, authentication methods, password rules, or organisational information.
  • Administrator activity: Actions taken by admin accounts, including changes to other administrators' permissions.
  • Integration and automation changes: Modifications to connected integrations or workflow rules within Zoho One.

Accessing Audit Logs

Audit Logs are accessible directly from the Zoho One Admin Panel. Only administrators with the appropriate permissions can view this information.

  1. Open the Admin Panel. Sign in to Zoho One with an administrator account and go to the Admin Panel.
  2. Navigate to Audit Logs. Locate the Audit Logs section within the Admin Panel navigation.
  3. Filter the log entries. Use available filters such as date range, event type, or the administrator who performed the action to narrow down the results.
  4. Review event details. Select individual log entries to view the full details of the action, including the before and after state of any changed values where applicable.
  5. Export if required. Export audit log data for use in compliance reports or external security reviews.

Using Audit Logs for Compliance and Security

For organisations subject to data protection regulations such as GDPR or ISO 27001 requirements, audit logs play a vital role in demonstrating accountability. If a user's access was changed, a security policy was updated, or a new administrator was added, the audit trail provides the evidence needed to show that changes were authorised and controlled. Regular review of audit logs also helps identify any unusual or unauthorised activity at the administrative level.

Note: Audit Logs in Zoho One cover administrative actions within the Admin Panel. For application-level audit trails, such as record changes within Zoho CRM or Zoho Desk, refer to the audit or history features within those individual applications.
