There's no single-click option to reset your Zoho Books organisation back to a blank state. You can either delete individual transactions manually, module by module, or delete the organisation entirely and start fresh with a new one.
Before Deleting: Requirements to Check
- The organisation must not be on any paid plan.
- You must be the last active Admin of the organisation.
- All integrations must be disabled first.
Strongly recommended: back up first. Once deleted, an organisation cannot be recovered, and all its data is permanently lost. Go to Settings, then Data Backup, then Backup Your Data before proceeding, so you retain a copy of everything.
Deleting an Organisation
- Click the Organisation Name dropdown in the top-right corner, and select Manage.
- Under My Organisations, hover over the organisation you want to delete, click the dropdown to the right, and select Delete.
- Read the information in the Delete Your Organisation pop-up, check "I want to permanently delete this Zoho Books organisation and its contents," and click Delete Organisation.
Consequences Worth Knowing Before You Delete
- If you'd enabled the Customer Portal for any contacts, they lose access to view their past transactions with you once the organisation is deleted.
- If bank feeds were enabled, deleting the organisation disables that connection, and you won't be able to fetch those bank transactions going forward.
If You're Not the Only User
If other users besides you are in the organisation, they need to leave first, or be removed, since only the last remaining Admin can delete an organisation. If you're an Admin but not the last user, you'd instead need to make someone else an Admin before you can leave yourself, or have another Admin perform the deletion.
