Yes, Territory Management in Zoho CRM covers Accounts, Contacts, and Deals, so it isn't limited to Contacts alone, though there are some differences in how each module is treated.
How Territories work
Territories segment your data using criteria you define, most commonly geography, but equally usable for company size, industry, or any other characteristic. You can build a hierarchy of territories and sub-territories, and records are automatically assigned based on whichever criteria they match. A record won't be assigned to a sub-territory unless it already meets the criteria of that sub-territory's parent.
Note: Territory Management is an Enterprise edition and above feature, and needs to be activated by an Administrator before it becomes available.
Assignment limits by module
An Account or Contact can belong to up to ten territories at once, while a Deal can only belong to one. This reflects how each record type is typically used: a Contact might legitimately fall under several overlapping segments, while a Deal usually sits with one specific team.
Known limitation: The bulk Assign Territories tool, under Setup, Territory Management, is currently only available for Accounts, Leads, and Deals, not Contacts. If you need to territory-assign a batch of Contacts you've just bulk-imported, you'll need to rely on the automatic criteria-based assignment, a workflow or function, or the API, rather than this bulk tool directly.
Roles within a Territory
- Administrators. Activate or deactivate Territory Management, create territories, and manage which users belong to them.
- Territory Managers. Create sub-territories, manage users within their own territory, set forecast targets, and manually reassign a record's territory if needed.
- Territory Members. Have read-only access to records within their territory by default, unless they own the record directly or have separate edit permission.
