Zoho Analytics Workspace Settings Guide

Configuring Workspace Settings in Zoho Analytics

The Workspace Settings panel in Zoho Analytics lets you control how data is displayed, how dates and numbers are formatted, and how the workspace behaves for all users. Access Settings from the Settings tab within any Workspace Explorer.

General Settings

From the General Settings section you can:

  • Update the workspace name and description.
  • Set this workspace as the default workspace that opens on login.
  • Choose whether hidden columns are visible during report creation.
  • Configure the week start day (Sunday through Saturday).

Fiscal Year Configuration

Set the financial year start month (January through December) to ensure all time-based reports align with your organisation's accounting period. Additional options include:

  • First fiscal week mode - Choose between ISO 8601 or a "Week starts on Month 1" convention.
  • Year display format - Show the start year, end year, or a full year range (for example, 2025-2026).

Week and Year Display Format

Five display styles are available for weeks and years across reports:

  • Short - for example, W01 2025
  • Medium - for example, Week 01 2025
  • Long - for example, 01 Apr 2025 - 07 Apr 2025
  • Start date only
  • End date only

Data Formatting

The Format Settings section applies consistent data formatting across all tables in the workspace. You can customise:

  • Date and time display formats
  • Duration formats
  • Number formats, including decimal places and thousand separators
  • Currency denomination and formatting
  • Percentage display styles
  • Locale-specific formatting overrides

Visual Customisation

Grid Themes let you tailor the appearance of Pivot, Summary, and Tabular views. Choose from available layout styles, colour schemes, fonts, zoom levels, and row spacing options to match your reporting standards.

Chart Colour Palettes determine which colours are automatically applied to data series across all new charts created in the workspace.

Resource Management

The Resources tab displays usage statistics for users, rows, query tables, and email or import schedules. Use the Unused Views feature to identify views that have been inactive for 60 or more days; removing these keeps your workspace lean and improves overall performance.

Administrative Options

  • Email Schedules - Manage scheduled report emails by name, recipient, or linked view.
  • User Access - Adjust sharing and permission settings for workspace users.
  • Variables - Create dynamic filter variables to make dashboards and reports interactive.
  • Slideshows - Configure and manage presentation-style slideshows of your reports.
  • Backups - Schedule periodic data backups (daily, weekly, or monthly) and manage download links.
