Connecting Zoho Projects to Zoho Analytics

The Zoho Projects connector for Zoho Analytics lets you import your project data and build detailed reports and dashboards that go beyond what Zoho Projects' native reporting can offer. You can analyse key metrics, track team performance, monitor budgets, and gain insights across all your active and completed projects.

Eligibility and Trial

This connector is available to users with paid accounts on both Zoho Projects (Enterprise or Premium editions) and any paid plan of Zoho Analytics. Only portal owners or administrators in Zoho Projects can set up the connection. A 15-day free trial is included from the date of first setup.

Setting Up the Connector

From Zoho Projects

  1. Open Settings. Navigate to Settings and select Zoho Analytics.
  2. Click Configure. Choose which projects to include in the data import.
  3. Select modules. Tasks and Milestones are mandatory; additional modules are optional.
  4. Set the sync interval. Choose how frequently Zoho Analytics should refresh the data.
  5. Click Start Sync to begin the initial import.

From Zoho Analytics

Synchronisation Frequency

Data refreshes can be scheduled every hour (Enterprise only), every 3, 6, or 12 hours, or once per day. Between scheduled runs, you can trigger up to five manual syncs using Sync Now.

Prebuilt Reports and Dashboards

Once set up, more than 50 reports are generated automatically. These cover target versus completed tasks, delayed milestones by owner, burndown charts, resource allocation and capacity, project ROI, revenue projections, and individual team member performance.

Prebuilt Formulas

The connector includes default calculated fields for milestones (duration, actual versus planned time, on-time vs late completion, delay percentages), tasks (overdue status, completion percentages, priority-based counts, time estimation accuracy), and bugs (age in days, closure rates, overdue counts).

User Roles and Permissions

Four access levels are available: Administrators control the full account; Workspace Administrators can modify reports, manage tables, and share access; Standard Users can build reports on tables that have been shared with them; and Restricted Users have read-only access as defined by the administrator.

Sharing, Exporting, and Embedding

Reports can be shared privately with fine-grained permissions including read-only access, export rights, and underlying data access. Export formats include PDF, HTML, Excel, CSV, PNG, and JPG. You can schedule automated email delivery and embed reports into websites or internal portals. SQL querying and lookup relationships allow you to combine project data with information from Zoho CRM, Books, Desk, or third-party sources.
