Creating Charts in Zoho Analytics

Charts are one of the most powerful ways to communicate data insights in Zoho Analytics. With over 75 chart types available and a drag-and-drop design interface, you can build clear, interactive visualisations from your workspace tables without writing any code.

Available Chart Types

Zoho Analytics supports a comprehensive range of chart formats to suit different analytical needs:

  • Bar and column charts: Compare values across categories.
  • Line and area charts: Show trends over time.
  • Pie and doughnut charts: Display proportional breakdowns.
  • Scatter charts: Reveal correlations between two numeric variables.
  • Funnel charts: Visualise stage-by-stage conversion or drop-off rates.
  • Combination charts: Layer multiple chart types on the same axis.
  • Stacked charts: Show part-to-whole relationships across categories.
  • Web (radar) charts: Compare multiple dimensions simultaneously.
  • Geo maps: Plot data geographically across countries, regions, and cities.

Creating a Chart

  1. Open your workspace and click New, then select Chart.
  2. Choose the table or related tables you want to use as the data source.
  3. Drag a dimension column (such as Product Category or Month) to the X Axis shelf.
  4. Drag a numeric column (such as Revenue or Count) to the Y Axis shelf.
  5. Select a chart type from the toolbar to switch between visualisation formats.
  6. Apply filters, sorting, and colour settings as needed.
  7. Click Save and assign a name to the chart.

Customisation Options

Each chart can be customised in the following ways:

  • Titles and labels: Add or edit the chart title, axis labels, and data labels.
  • Colours: Choose from preset palettes or apply custom colours to individual series.
  • Legends: Show or hide the legend and reposition it as needed.
  • Tooltips: Configure what information appears when a user hovers over a data point.
  • Gridlines and axes: Adjust axis scales, gridline visibility, and axis ranges.

Filtering and Interactivity

Zoho Analytics charts support several interactive features:

  • Filters: Apply conditions to restrict the data shown in the chart.
  • User filters: Add filter controls that viewers can adjust when viewing the chart or dashboard.
  • Data drill-down: Click a data point to drill into the underlying detail rows.
  • Legend-based filtering: Click legend items to show or hide individual series.
  • On-mouse-over highlights: Data points highlight when the cursor hovers over them for clearer reading.
