Core Components of a Pivot Table

A pivot table in Zoho Analytics is made up of four structural elements:

• Rows: Dimension columns assigned to the vertical axis, grouping data by category (for example, by Sales Region or Product Name).
• Columns: Dimension columns arranged horizontally, creating a cross-tabulation grid (for example, by Quarter or Status).
• Data Cells: Numeric columns placed in the value area, aggregated using functions such as SUM, COUNT, or AVERAGE at each row-column intersection.
• Totals: Grand total and subtotal rows and columns displayed at the edges of the table for quick summary reference.

Creating a Pivot Table

1. Open your workspace and click New, then select Pivot Table.
2. Choose the source table or tables to use for the pivot.
3. Drag dimension columns to the Rows and Columns shelves.
4. Drag numeric columns to the Data shelf and select an aggregation function (SUM, COUNT, AVG, etc.).
5. Configure totals, sorting, and filters as needed.
