In January 2020 Zoho introduced limits on data storage in Zoho CRM. What does data storage mean? Data storage is different to file storage. File storage is the physical storage of data, for example uploading a PDF Contract to a Contact record. Zoho CRM performs numerous operations on the data that is stored in Zoho CRM. It is these operations that are powered by Data storage in Zoho CRM.
Data Storage in Zoho also powers ZIA - Zoho's AI (machine learning) platform which helps customers make better and informed decisions. Currently, ZIA helps Zoho's customers with the following
- Prediction
- Recommendation
- Detecting anomalies
- Suggestions on Best time to contact, Workflow, and Macros
Zoho do not charge any additional cost for providing Zia. However, when a customers data increases disproportionately against their user base, maintaining such large volumes of data, processing and converting them to meaningful and actionable information becomes a costly operation. Keeping this in mind, Zoho decided that they charge a nominal amount for any additional Data storage beyond the base limit.
Which customers will be impacted? Zoho have taken into consideration about their existing customers base and this change does not affect the majority of Zoho customers. The table below will articulate the Data Storage in Zoho CRM limits.
