Zoho CRM splits storage into two separate categories: File Storage, which covers things like PDF attachments uploaded to a record, and Data Storage, which covers the records themselves. This article covers Data Storage specifically.
Data Storage is the total space occupied by the records in your standard and custom modules, including any notes added to those records, plus whatever is currently sitting in your Recycle Bin. It's calculated using approximate per-item sizes: standard system modules and custom modules are counted at roughly 2 KB per record, linking modules at roughly 1 KB, and notes at roughly 1 KB each.
