Delete Site in Zoho Sites

Deleting a site in Zoho Sites is a permanent process, so it's worth following the steps carefully and being certain before you begin.

To Delete Your Site

  1. Go to Configuration, then Site Options.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Delete under Delete Site.
  4. A verification code is sent to your Zoho Sites registered email address. Enter this code in the pop-up shown on screen.
  5. Click Delete to confirm.
Note: A website with an active subscription cannot be deleted. Cancel or downgrade the subscription first if you need to delete a site that's currently on a paid plan.

If You're Not Ready to Delete Permanently: Unpublish Instead

If you no longer need a site live right now, but might want it back at some point, unpublishing is a reversible alternative to permanent deletion.

  1. Go to Configuration, then Site Options.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Unpublish under Unpublish.
  4. Click Unpublish again in the pop-up to confirm. Your site is then pulled down.

An unpublished website isn't accessible to visitors, but can be republished later if needed, unlike a deletion, which is final.

Deleting a Site with an Associated Organisation or Domain

If you've also set up a Zoho organisation (for example through Zoho Mail, tied to your site's domain), you may need to delete that organisation first before Zoho Sites will let you close the account entirely. This is done from the relevant product's own control panel (such as Zoho Mail's Control Panel, then Dashboard, then Delete Organisation) rather than from within Zoho Sites itself. Cancelling any auto-renewal on a custom domain separately is also worth checking, since deleting the site doesn't automatically cancel a domain's own renewal.
