Sales personnel traditionally oversee tasks only up to the estimates stage in the sales process. This means CRM users primarily engaged in the Estimates module, without involvement in subsequent activities like invoicing, can now be designated as Integration Users from Zoho CRM into Zoho Books, without needing an additional Zoho Books licence. In essence, Integration Users in Zoho CRM are standard CRM users whose admins can assign specific permissions for designated tasks within the Estimates module.
Once integrated, these users can perform all operations within the Estimates module, including creating, viewing, and editing records. Their access to other modules, such as Invoices, Sales Orders, and Purchase Orders, is limited to view-only. Integration Users don't get direct access to Zoho Books itself; their entire interaction happens from within Zoho CRM.
For users with access to both Zoho CRM and Zoho Books, this integration ensures permissions are managed consistently across both. Any restriction placed on an action or feature in Zoho Books is uniformly applied in Zoho CRM as well. This resolved a previous inconsistency, where a user could access a feature in Zoho CRM without having the equivalent authorisation in Zoho Books, closing a gap that previously allowed unauthorised access or actions.
