Users sometimes run into difficulties with ticket views in Zoho Desk and turn to the support team for help. To get to the bottom of these issues, support representatives usually need the View ID belonging to the specific view involved.

What is a View ID?

Every ticket view created in Zoho Desk, whether a default view or a custom one, carries a unique View ID. This acts as a reference point for that particular configuration, letting the support team trace exactly which view is being discussed and examine its underlying settings.

When a View ID is needed

• Ticket count discrepancies, where the number shown does not match the actual tickets in a view
• Filter-related issues, where applied filters do not return the expected results
• View loading problems, where a view fails to load or shows incorrect data
• Permission investigations, where a user reports access issues with a specific view
• Performance analysis, where a view is slow to load or respond
• Configuration audits, where view settings and parameters need verifying

How to fetch the View ID

1. Sign in and open the Ticket module. Log in to Zoho Desk and go to Tickets.
2. Open Inspect. Right-click anywhere on the page and choose Inspect.
3. Clear the Console. In Developer Tools, open the Console tab and click Clear to remove existing logs.
4. Clear the Network tab. Switch to Network and click Clear to remove existing requests.
5. Open the affected view. From the left-hand panel in Zoho Desk, select the custom view giving trouble.
6. Wait for requests to load. Let the Network tab populate with new requests.
7. Locate the request. Find the request matching the custom view and check its request URL.
8. Copy the View ID. Extract it from the request URL and share it with your Zoho support representative.
