How many custom fields you can add in Zoho CRM depends on your edition, the type of field, and sometimes the age of your specific account.

Some long-standing accounts are on what Zoho refers to as an "Old Professional" or "Old Enterprise" edition, where the price was held at a previous level but the feature set, including field limits, was not carried forward to match current editions. On top of the total per-module limit, each individual field type has its own cap. For example, on the Enterprise edition, limits for common field types include roughly 200 string fields (single line, multi-line, email, phone, URL), 40 integer fields, 40 decimal fields, 50 date fields, 50 date/time fields, 80 checkbox fields, and 35 long integer fields. Lookup fields have historically been capped much lower, often as few as 5 per module, though Zoho has discussed raising this for higher editions.
