This is a common question, that we get asked. The first concept to think about is that even if a Lead is perceived to be Closed, Lost, Junk or Inactive today you do not want to lose the data, the notes and interactions. Therefore, you don’t delete a Lead when it is Closed.
The view “All Open Leads” shows every Lead that has been entered into the Lead module, what you are actually asking is how do I filter this View when a lead is closed or inactive.
The first part is using Lead Status. The default Zoho pick list on Lead Status has “Last Lead” and “Junk Lead”. This picklist can be modified to your terminology to include “Inactive”. So to Close a Lead you would select “Lost Lead”, to mark a Lead Inactive you would select “Inactive”, etc.
The second part is to create a view that filters these Leads out. When you hover to the right of View you see an option called New, this creates a New View. You need to give the view a name (for example Active Leads), select the columns that you require. Then under criteria you would set it to lead Status isn’t “Inactive” or however you define a Closed Lead or an Inactive Lead.
