How to Use Mobile Check-Ins for Meetings in Zoho CRM

If your business involves travelling to see clients, the Zoho CRM mobile app lets sales reps check in at a location and link that check-in directly to a meeting, giving managers real visibility over which visits have actually taken place.

How it works in practice

A sales manager creates a series of client visit meetings for a rep. The rep visits each client's office and checks in from that location. Each check-in is then associated with the relevant meeting in Zoho CRM, which tells the manager the visit has actually happened, and is also recorded as a note against the related lead or contact.

How to check in from the mobile app

  1. Open the record. Go to the Leads, Contacts, or Accounts module.
  2. Tap check-in. Tap the check-in icon to start a new check-in.
  3. Link it to a meeting. If a meeting already exists for that record, select it and your check-in is recorded as a note against it. If no meeting exists, you'll be prompted to create one, which the check-in will then be linked to.
Note: Check-ins can only be made from the mobile app, not the web version, since they're built around being on the move. Each check-in automatically posts an update to Feeds, and creating one requires Create Meeting permission.

Viewing check-in details

Once recorded, a check-in's details appear in two places: on the details page of the meeting it's linked to, and as a note on the related Lead, Contact, or Account record.

Reporting on check-ins

Sales managers can review check-in activity using the default reports available under Reports, then Meeting Reports, or by building their own reports based on check-in data, for example by location or by sales rep, to draw broader conclusions about field activity.
