Zoho Analytics supports a wide range of file formats and data feed sources for bringing data into your workspace. This guide covers the supported formats, import sources, configuration options, and scheduling capabilities.

Supported File Types

The following file formats can be imported, up to a limit of 100 MB or 1,000,000 rows (whichever is reached first). PDF imports support up to 1,000 pages.

• CSV and TSV
• Excel (.xls and .xlsx)
• HTML, JSON, and XML
• Statistical formats (SPSS, SAS, Stata)
• Spatial data (Shapefiles, KML, GeoJSON)
• MS Access databases
• PDF documents

For files larger than 100 MB, use Zoho Databridge, a desktop agent that uploads large files in chunks over a reliable connection.

Import Sources

Three import sources are available:

• Local Drive - Upload files directly from your computer via the browser-based import wizard.
• Pasted Data - Copy and paste small tabular datasets directly into the import wizard without needing to save a file first.
• FTP Server - Import files stored on a remote server. Supports FTP, FTPS (Implicit and Explicit), and SFTP protocols.

Import Configuration Options

The import wizard provides the following configuration settings:

• Table name and description
• Column header detection (select whether the first row contains headers)
• Date format specification
• Thousand and decimal separator settings
• Row-skipping for metadata or blank rows
• Data type assignment per column
• Column exclusion (omit unwanted columns from the import)

Error handling offers three approaches: set problematic cells to empty (default), skip the entire row, or cancel the full import.

Scheduled Imports

Scheduled refresh is available for FTP server and web URL sources only. The refresh frequency ranges from once per day on the Basic plan up to 24 times per day on the Enterprise plan. Local Drive and Pasted Data imports cannot be scheduled.

Email Attachment Imports

Available on Premium and Enterprise plans, this feature allows team members to update a table by emailing a data file to a designated address. Setup requires you to specify authorised sender addresses, the target table, and the update mode. Each email must contain a single file matching the original import format.
