Importing from Local Databases Using Zoho Databridge

Zoho Databridge is a lightweight desktop utility that acts as a secure bridge between your on-premise databases and Zoho Analytics. It allows you to import data from local databases into your workspace without exposing your database directly to the internet.

Supported Databases

  • MySQL
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL

System Requirements

  • Operating systems - Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Disk space - Minimum 512 MB available
  • RAM - At least 2 GB

Installation

Download Zoho Databridge from the Manage Databridge section within Zoho Analytics. Installers are available for the following platforms:

  • Windows: 32-bit and 64-bit .exe files
  • Linux: 32-bit and 64-bit .bin files
  • macOS: 64-bit .zip file

Starting Zoho Databridge

  • Windows - Use the Windows Services manager to start the service automatically on boot.
  • macOS and Linux - Run the StartServer.sh file from the command prompt. Note that on macOS and Linux, Zoho Databridge must be restarted manually after each machine reboot.

Configuration Options

Proxy Settings

If your network uses a proxy server, edit the serveragent.config file located in the Zoho Databridge installation directory under /conf. Configure the PROXY, PROXY_HOST, PROXY_PORT, PROXY_USERNAME, and PROXY_PASSWORD fields as required.

Firewall Configuration

Outbound connections use port 443 (HTTPS). Region-specific Zoho Analytics domains must be added to your firewall allowlist depending on your data centre location (US, EU, IN, CN, JP, AU, CA, or SA).

Memory Settings

For large dataset imports that trigger memory errors, increase the heap memory allocation by editing the wrapper.conf file (Windows) or heapMemory.conf (macOS/Linux).

Multiple Installations

Multiple Databridge installations can be linked to a single Zoho Analytics account using the same installation key. However, only one Databridge instance can be installed per machine.

Scheduled Synchronisation

Once configured, Zoho Databridge can automatically synchronise data from your on-premise database to Zoho Analytics at scheduled intervals, keeping your reports and dashboards up to date without manual exports.
