Integrating Zoho Zia Agents with ChatKit, Cliq, WhatsApp and API

Integrating Zoho Zia Agents with Channels and APIs

Once a Zoho Zia Agent is deployed, it can be connected to a range of channels so users can interact with it where they already work. The Integrate tab on the agent details page organises the available options into three sections: chat interfaces, messaging and social channels, and a developer interface for programmatic access.

Note: Integration options only become available after the agent has been deployed. Ensure deployment is complete before configuring channels.

Chat Interface

ChatKit

ChatKit embeds a customisable chat widget on your website, giving visitors or authenticated users access to the agent directly from your web pages. To set it up:

  1. Select an access mode. Choose Public (available to all visitors) or Private (restricted to authenticated users only).
  2. Generate chat keys if your access mode requires them.
  3. Copy the initialisation script and add it to the HTML of the pages where you want the widget to appear.

Cliq Chatbot

Deploying the agent as a Cliq chatbot makes it available within Zoho Cliq for internal team collaboration. The bot responds to team members using the agent's full configuration, including its tools and knowledge base. To configure it:

  1. Create the bot by providing a display name and a description that helps team members understand its purpose.
  2. Set the access level to control which Cliq users or channels can interact with the bot.
  3. The bot becomes available in Zoho Cliq and operates using the deployed agent's configuration from that point forward.

Messaging and Social Channels

WhatsApp

Connecting the agent to WhatsApp Business allows it to respond to customer messages through Meta's platform. Three preliminary steps in Settings must be completed before the integration can be configured:

  1. Enable Instant Messaging in the Zia Agents Settings.
  2. Link your Meta Business account to the platform.
  3. Create a WhatsApp channel in Settings.

Once these steps are complete, return to the agent's Integrate tab and connect the agent to the configured WhatsApp channel.

Developer Interface: Agent API

The Agent API enables external applications to trigger the agent programmatically. The Integrate tab provides all the technical details required to connect: OAuth scope, authentication methods, the HTTP endpoint, required headers, and request body specifications. This integration is suited to scenarios where an agent needs to be invoked from a custom application, a third-party system, or a scheduled process outside the Zoho platform.
