Introducing Zia Chat: AI for Frictionless Work

Zoho has introduced Zia Chat, described as an AI for frictionless work, a single conversational interface that pulls information, context, and actions across every Zoho app a user is authorised to access.

The Problem It's Aimed At

Business context is fragmented by nature: sales data lives in CRM, support history in Desk, invoices in Books, and projects in Projects. Employees navigate this daily by switching tabs, searching across apps, and manually piecing together a full picture. Zia Chat is built to remove that manual assembly work, since business context, permissions, and capabilities are already native to the platform it runs on.

A Native Work Graph

Zia Chat uses a native work graph to understand relationships across accounts, deals, tickets, invoices, and employees, rather than treating each app's data as an isolated silo it has to bridge manually. Most AI assistants optimise for one axis, either a single-app assistant that goes deep in one application, or a general productivity assistant that goes broad but with shallow context in each. Zia Chat is built for both: broad reach across the business, combined with deep, native context within each app it touches.

What This Looks Like in Practice

  • A salesperson can ask Zia Chat to review an account's open support tickets, overdue invoices, and recent deal activity, then draft a pre-meeting briefing and schedule a follow-up task, all within one conversation.
  • A finance manager can pull payment summaries and flag overdue accounts without touching Zoho Books directly.
  • A support lead can correlate ticket patterns across Desk and CRM to spot churn risk before it escalates.

Beyond Single Queries: Profiles, Skills, and Agents

Zia Chat supports three further building blocks beyond one-off queries:

  • Profiles. Role-specific configurations scoped to the apps each team actually needs, rather than every user seeing the same generic setup.
  • Skills. Reusable tasks triggered by specific conditions, rather than needing to be re-described from scratch each time.
  • Agents. Autonomous agents that handle multi-step work, such as lead enrichment, deal analysis, or quote generation, on their own.

Launch Details

Zia Chat is launching for Early Access in approximately a month, initially in English, under a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model. This means customers can bring their preferred LLM key rather than being locked into a single AI provider.

For customers already running Zoho One or a multi-app Zoho deployment, Zia Chat is aimed squarely at the question of how to get every team working from one connected view of the business, rather than each team working from its own app in isolation.
See Zoho's own Zia Chat page for further detail as it becomes available.
