The Recycle Bin in Zoho CRM acts as a safety net for accidentally deleted data. Rather than removing records and files immediately, Zoho CRM moves them to the Recycle Bin, giving you the opportunity to review and recover them before they are permanently removed.
When you delete a record or file from your Zoho CRM account, it is not erased immediately. Instead, it is moved to the Recycle Bin, where it remains accessible until either restored or permanently deleted. This applies to records across modules such as Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Deals, and more, as well as any files associated with those records.
Items in the Recycle Bin are retained for a period of 60 days from the date of deletion. During this window, any authorised user with the appropriate permissions can restore the data to its original location within CRM. Once the 60-day period expires, the data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
To restore a record or file from the Recycle Bin, navigate to the Recycle Bin section within your CRM account. From there, you can browse or search for the deleted item and select the restore option to return it to its original module and location. The recovered record retains all its original data, including associated notes, activities, and linked records.
If you wish to remove data from the Recycle Bin before the 60-day period elapses, you can permanently delete individual items or clear all contents of the Recycle Bin. This action is irreversible, so exercise caution before proceeding. Only users with the appropriate administrative permissions are able to carry out permanent deletions.
