Setup Steps

Step 1: Create Your MCP Server

1. Sign in to your regional portal. Navigate to the appropriate Zoho MCP URL for your region and authenticate with your Zoho credentials.
2. Create a new MCP server. Select the option to create an MCP server and begin the configuration process.
3. Add Zoho Analytics tools. From the list of available tools, select the Zoho Analytics tools you wish to expose to your AI client.
4. Choose an authorisation method. Select the authorisation mode that suits your use case (see Step 2 below).
5. Copy the server URL. Once the server is created, copy the generated MCP server URL — you will need it to configure your host application.

Step 2: Configure Authorisation

Authorisation controls how MCP host applications and their users authenticate when making tool calls. Select the mode that best fits your team's access requirements during server creation.

Step 3: Connect to Your MCP Host

1. Open the Connect section. In your Zoho MCP server configuration, navigate to the Connect section.
2. Follow the host-specific instructions. Each supported host (Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, etc.) has its own connection steps, which are outlined in the Connect section.
3. Add the server URL to your host's configuration. Paste the server URL you copied in Step 1 into your chosen MCP host's configuration file.

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

Verify that your MCP host supports HTTP transport and confirm you have copied the correct server URL without any extra characters or whitespace.

Authentication Failures

If using Authorise on Demand, complete the browser-based login when prompted. If using Authorise via Connection and tokens have expired, re-authorise through the Zoho MCP portal.

Missing Data

Confirm that the tools configured on your server have the required permissions, and that your Zoho Analytics account has access to the data you are trying to retrieve.
