This has changed significantly since it was first documented. Zoho Backstage has since introduced its own native ticketing system, meaning connecting to Eventbrite to configure tickets is no longer the primary or necessary approach.
What changed: Zoho Backstage rolled out its own built-in ticketing and payment system, letting you configure a payment mode, ticket classes, registration settings, and promo codes entirely within Backstage itself, without needing a third-party platform like Eventbrite in the middle.
Configuring Tickets Natively in Zoho Backstage
- Configure a payment mode. Set your payout country and currency, and choose from Backstage's supported payment gateways.
- Set up ticket classes. Create free or paid ticket classes, each with a name, description, quantity, sales start and end dates, and a limit on tickets per purchase. Ticket classes can be reordered, featured on your event microsite, or kept hidden until you choose to reveal them.
- Manage registration settings. Apply general settings across all orders, set a refund policy, and let attendees cancel free tickets or request refunds within a timeframe you define. Tax invoice information can also be collected during checkout, and every ticket-related transaction email can be reviewed and edited.
- Offer promo codes. Provide discounts directly through Backstage's own promo code system.
Commission-free ticketing: Zoho Backstage has opened up commission-free ticketing in select countries, including the US, Canada, UK, India, and Australia, alongside a global option for other regions. Check current terms directly in Backstage for your specific country.
If You Still Want to Use Eventbrite
If your organisation has an existing Eventbrite workflow you want to keep, Eventbrite and Zoho Backstage can still be connected via Zoho Flow or Zapier, letting you automate actions such as syncing new events, ticket orders, and attendee updates between the two platforms, rather than relying on Eventbrite as your only ticketing mechanism.
