List Segmentation lets you carve a mailing list into dynamic sub-groups based on criteria you define, so you can target campaigns to exactly the contacts most likely to respond, rather than emailing an entire list uniformly.
How to create a segment
- Open your list. Go to Contacts, then Manage Lists, and select the list you want to segment.
- Create a new segment. Click Segments, then Create Segment.
- Set your criteria. Build conditions using contact fields, engagement history (such as opened or clicked a specific email), or list and topic membership.
Bulk segmentation
For large or unwieldy lists, bulk segmentation lets you pick a single field, such as Country or Industry, and Zoho Campaigns automatically generates the possible segments from the distinct values in that field, rather than building each one manually.
Org-level segments
Segments can now also be built at the organisation level, pulling together contacts sharing similar field values regardless of which list they belong to, rather than being confined to a single list as segments originally were.
Note: There is no fixed limit on the number of segments you can create. Segments are dynamic, automatically growing or shrinking as contacts match or stop matching their criteria, unlike a static list.
