Zoho CRM Kiosk Studio: What It Is and When to Use It

Zoho CRM Kiosk Studio: What It Is and How It Differs from Blueprint, Wizard and Workflow

Kiosk Studio is a no-code process builder inside Zoho CRM. What it builds is called a kiosk: a small application for one process, which opens at the point in the CRM where the work happens, guides the person through the steps, does the tedious parts for them, and then disappears. This is the first of six articles on Kiosk Studio, based on Zoho's Zoholics 2026 eBook, which we have rewritten in our own words and added our own advice to, clearly marked.

What a kiosk does

A kiosk takes over the work around the work. It can:

  • Fetch data for the person, including from systems outside the CRM.
  • Remember the steps of the process, and change the path when an answer changes what should happen next.
  • Make changes in the CRM and elsewhere, and notify the people who need to know.
  • Loop over a large number of records, query several systems for context, hand a task to a function for complex logic, or put an AI agent in the middle of the flow.

Zoho's phrase for it is a temporary, deterministic tunnel. It is not a pop-up or a form. It is the process itself, laid out in the order the process intends, with the context already in front of the user at each step.

An example, retold

Zoho's example is a sales rep taking a call from a dealer whose machine has broken. From the CRM home page, the rep types a few letters of the dealer's name and picks them from a list. The kiosk shows that dealer's machines, the rep picks the faulty one, and the kiosk fetches the warranty status from the manufacturer's own system. Because the warranty is active, it collects a contact for the technician, a few details of the fault, and when the repair is needed. It then raises the request, creates two records, and sends notifications, all while the dealer is still on the phone, and without the rep leaving the home page. Before the kiosk, the same call meant about six tabs, a manual warranty check, two records created from scratch, and emails sent by hand.

How it differs from other CRM tools

Zoho CRM already has several tools for process, each built for a different job. Zoho's point is that none of them governs a single unit of work from start to finish.

Feature What it is for
BlueprintGoverns the long-term journey of one record, locking in the rules for how and when it moves from one state to the next.
WizardMakes data entry for a single record easier by splitting a long form into steps.
WorkflowRuns background actions, such as sending an email or assigning a task, when conditions are met.
FunctionRuns custom logic or connects to outside systems behind the scenes, with no user interface.
KioskGuides a user through a single multi-step flow, even when it crosses several modules and outside systems.

Blueprint and Kiosk Studio work well together. A blueprint can hold a record's state over days or weeks. A kiosk can be embedded in one of its transitions, so that when someone clicks the transition, the kiosk opens and walks them through everything needed to move the record forward.

The builder, and what Zoho says about availability

  • Kiosk Studio has a no-code builder and an AI chatbot. You can ask Zia, Zoho's AI assistant, to create a first draft of a kiosk from a description.
  • Zoho says it is available in Zoho CRM's Standard edition and above.
  • A kiosk can be placed almost anywhere in the CRM, including inside a blueprint transition.
  • Zoho says it is investing heavily in the feature and ships improvements regularly, but admits some processes will fall outside its scope.
What the eBook does not say: whether any limits apply to the number of kiosks or how often they run, which data centres have it, or what it costs beyond the edition. It is a marketing document, so check those points for your own account before promising anything to a client. This is our own caution, not Zoho's.
