Release Plan: Being rolled out to customers in a phased manner from the middle of January 2024
The Zoho CRM Timeline has always been a key tool in understanding and analysing the history of a record. From January 2024, Zoho will be rolling out some significant changes to the Timeline. This coincides with another new feature that is also related to the Timeline called the "Interactions Tab".
Zoho CRM Timeline Duration
The Zoho CRM Timeline was always limited to the last 6 months of history. This has now been extended to 3 years. Zoho are also working towards archived data for entries beyond 3 years (up to 10 years). When this is implemented, Timeline data entries beyond 3 years will be included in CRM storage.
Zoho CRM Timeline Notes
Timeline and Notes were historically disconnected, now you can add Notes to a Timeline. The Notes could be a summary of an Email received or why a particular field was changed. Where it gets cleve is that the Note entered on the Timeline will be displayed on the record page with a hyperlink back to the Timeline event.
Filter The Timeline
With three years worth of data, the Zoho CRM Timeline could become difficult to interrogate. So Zoho have added filters to the Timline that allow you to filter on a combination of: Modules, Users, Time and Sources.
Email Status In Timeline
For each Email entry in your timeline, you'll be able to view a full history of its status changes (sent, opened, clicked, bounced).
