Zoho has launched CRM Plus Starter Edition, a new entry-level tier of its customer experience (CX) platform aimed at small and growing businesses. It gives smaller organisations an affordable way to get started with the wider Zoho CX ecosystem, without needing to commit to a full enterprise-level plan from day one.
Starter Edition is a lightweight, unified CX platform that brings sales, marketing and support tools together in one plan. Rather than treating these as separate, disconnected products, Zoho has packaged a Standard-level set of applications specifically for businesses that are just beginning their journey with the platform. The aim is to help partners bring SMB customers on board more quickly, show them value early on, and give them a clear route to expand into the rest of the Zoho CX suite as they grow.
Expectations around CRM have shifted considerably in recent years. Even businesses at the entry level now expect their sales, marketing and support functions to work together as one connected system, rather than as a set of standalone tools that do not talk to each other. Starter Edition is designed to meet this expectation, offering a joined-up CX experience without the complexity that comes with enterprise-grade deployments.
One of the main goals behind Starter Edition is to let customers begin small and scale up smoothly over time, without having to go through a disruptive migration or start again from scratch. Zoho has set out an intended customer journey that looks like this:
This staged approach creates several natural points at which a partner can step in to support further consulting, configuration and account growth.
Starter Edition bundles together the following applications and editions:
| Application | Edition / Limit |
|---|---|
| Zoho CRM | Standard |
| Zoho Desk | Standard |
| Zoho Campaigns | Standard, up to 2,000 contacts |
| Zoho Social | Standard |
| Zoho Survey | Basic |
| Zoho Projects | Premium |
| Zoho SalesIQ | Basic |
| Zoho Analytics | Free |
No. While a customer remains on the Starter plan, individual applications cannot be upgraded on their own. To move to an a la carte, app-by-app upgrade model, the customer needs to switch to the CRM Flex plan, which is built to support that kind of selective upgrading.
