If your organisation currently pays for Zoho CRM Plus, or is weighing it up against standalone Zoho CRM, it helps to be clear on what actually separates the two. This article sets out the conceptual difference between the bundle and the single application, and the kinds of reasons a business typically has for moving between them.
Zoho CRM Plus is a bundled customer experience suite rather than a single product. Instead of selling you the CRM application on its own, Zoho packages it alongside a set of related tools, typically covering areas such as helpdesk support, marketing automation, website visitor chat, social media management, surveys and analytics, all under one combined per-user licence. The premise of the bundle is that a business gets a joined-up set of applications sharing the same customer data, rather than buying and stitching together several separate products itself.
Standalone Zoho CRM is the CRM application on its own, without the other apps that come packaged into CRM Plus. It is sold across its own range of editions, running from a free tier up to more advanced paid tiers that add progressively more automation, customisation and reporting capability. An organisation on standalone CRM pays only for CRM licences, and would need a separate subscription for any of the other bundled apps, such as a helpdesk or marketing tool, if it wanted that functionality too.
There is no single right answer here, it depends entirely on how an organisation actually works day to day. Common patterns we see include:
Whichever direction the move goes, it is essentially a change to your Zoho subscription and plan, rather than a technical migration of the underlying CRM data itself, since the CRM module and its records remain the same product either way.
