Price Books let you sell the same product at different prices to different customers, based on your agreement terms with them, rather than being locked into one flat price for everyone.

Unit Price versus List Price

• Unit Price. The price fixed by the manufacturer for the product, which cannot be changed.
• List Price. The seller's own price. Resellers or manufacturers can sell the same product at different List Prices to different resellers or customers, and this variable pricing is what Price Books actually manage.

Pricing models

When creating a Price Book, you choose from three pricing models:

• No Discount. The Unit Price applies regardless of quantity purchased.
• Flat Discount. A single discount percentage applies uniformly across all quantities.
• Differential Discount. Discounts vary by quantity range, for example no discount on the first 100 units, 10 percent off the next 100, and 50 percent off anything beyond that.

Creating a Price Book

1. Open Price Books. Go to the Price Books module and click New Price Book.
2. Name it and choose a model. Enter a Price Book Name and select your Pricing Model.
3. Set your pricing details. For Flat or Differential Discount, enter the discount percentage and quantity ranges, adding further tiers as needed.
4. Save.

You can also clone an existing Price Book to create a similar one with a few changes, or import Price Book data from a CSV or XLS file to bulk-update List Prices across many products at once.

Using a Price Book on a transaction

Price Books aren't linked directly to Accounts or Contacts. Instead, you select the relevant Price Book when adding product line items to a Quote, Sales Order, or Invoice, and Zoho CRM automatically applies the correct Unit Price, discount, and final price based on that Price Book's settings.
