If you use Zoho DataPrep from within Zoho Analytics rather than the standalone Zoho DataPrep application, you may occasionally see a pipeline fail with the message "Cannot run pipeline: You have exhausted your plan limits", even though your own calculations of your row processing entitlement suggest you should still have headroom. This article explains why that can happen and what to check.
Zoho offers two distinct ways to access data preparation functionality. The first is the standalone Zoho DataPrep application, a full ETL tool with its own workspaces, pipelines, scheduling, and a wide connector library. The second is the DataPrep add-on that sits inside Zoho Analytics, accessed via the Prepare Data option either during import or afterwards on an existing table.
It helps to think of the Zoho Analytics version as a lighter version of DataPrep. Several transforms available in the standalone product are not available inside Zoho Analytics, including Join, Append, Pivot, Change data type, Split, and Merge. Some other transforms are only available while importing data, and are not available afterwards if you are cleaning data that is already sitting in a table.
Zoho One includes a DataPrep entitlement calculated as a base allowance plus an addition per employee licence, up to a stated maximum. This entitlement is what appears against the standalone Zoho DataPrep application under its Current Plan and Rows processed this month figures.
However, the row processing figures shown inside Zoho Analytics, under Rows Processed for the DataPrep add-on, can be tracked as a separate counter, and may be governed by the Zoho Analytics plan (for example Premium or Enterprise processing limits) rather than the Zoho One DataPrep entitlement. This means the "Used" and "Remaining" figures you see in Zoho Analytics will not necessarily match the figures shown inside the standalone Zoho DataPrep application, even though both relate to the same underlying account.
