Zoho Projects Accessibility Settings and Features

Zoho Projects: Accessibility Settings

Zoho Projects includes accessibility settings that reduce the effort of moving around the interface for people with different visual, auditory, and sensory needs. They are personal preferences, so each user can set the controls that suit them. The newest options are cell borders, text editor preferences, a mandatory field indicator, toast message controls, and customised error message colours.

Availability: these controls are available only on the standalone Zoho Projects subscription. They are not available in bundles such as Zoho One, Zoho CRM Plus, and Zoho Projects Plus.

Why use them

  1. A more inclusive product, with several ways to interact with the interface.
  2. Better usability for every user.
  3. Help meeting legal requirements and regulations.
  4. Less friction when using the product.

Where to find the controls

  • From Setup. Go to Setup, then Personal Preference, then Personal Settings, open the Accessibility tab, and switch on the settings you need.
  • From the toolbar. Click the accessibility icon in the Quick access toolbar.
  • From the sign-out page. Click your profile picture in the upper-right corner, then the Accessibility button at the bottom.

The accessibility features

Feature What it does
Reading MaskTints the screen and adds a focus box over one area to cut distraction. It comes in three sizes and moves with the mouse or touchpad.
Page LandmarksMove between the sections of Zoho Projects, and quickly between elements on the screen, using the keyboard.
Text SpacingAdjusts spacing from very compact to wider, for legibility and less strain.
AnimationsReduces or removes sudden motion for people sensitive to it. You can keep or remove non-essential animations, or follow your system's motion setting where one exists.
Cursor SizeA larger cursor makes mouse movement easier to follow.
Font SizeChanges the size of on-screen text, from very compact to larger.
Font FamilyChoose between three fonts: Zoho Puvi, Lato, and Roboto.
Cell BorderMarks cells and borders so rows and columns are easier to tell apart.
Text Editor PreferencesSets a default font type and size for the editors used across Zoho Projects.
ZoomMagnify or shrink the screen from 25 percent to 200 percent, using the browser's zoom.
Keyboard ShortcutsAn alternative to the mouse or touchpad for basic functions.
Custom ScrollReplaces the native scroll bar with a lighter, more compact one, so scroll position is clearer without hurting readability.
Screen ReaderUses your browser's screen reading to read on-screen text aloud, including button text and tooltips.
Hover TextMagnifies text when you hover over it, for better visibility.
Strikethrough for Closed ItemsMarks completed tasks, issues, and milestones with a strikethrough so finished and pending work are easy to tell apart.
Mandatory Field IndicatorShows which form fields are required. Choose an asterisk, mandatory text, or a red accent line.
Dismiss ToastControls how long pop-up messages stay on screen: five seconds, a time based on the length of the text, or until you dismiss them.
Toast NotificationsChooses how messages appear. List View shows them one after another. Stack View stacks them, and you must close one to see the one below.
Customize Error MessageLets you pick the colour used to show error messages.
