Agent Studio is the central workspace for building and configuring agents in Zoho Zia Agents. You can reach it from the left sidebar or by starting the agent creation process from elsewhere in the platform. Two distinct creation paths are available, each suited to a different level of familiarity with agent configuration.

Creation Methods

Build from Scratch

This path gives you full control over every aspect of the agent's configuration. It follows a four-step sequence where you define each element manually:

• Basic information: Set the agent's name, description, AI vendor, model, role definition, and detailed instructions.
• Knowledge base: Choose which uploaded documents the agent can reference when generating responses.
• Tools: Connect the system or custom tools that allow the agent to take actions in your systems.
• Guardrails: Configure the safety and behavioural boundaries that govern what the agent will and will not do.

Building from scratch is recommended when you want a clear understanding of each component and how they interact.

Build with Zia AI

This option uses a prompt-driven approach. You describe what you need the agent to do, and Zia AI generates a configuration for you, including suggested instructions, tool selections, and knowledge base references. You can review and adjust everything before the agent is finalised. This method is well suited to users who are less certain about how to structure an agent's configuration, as it provides a working starting point that can be refined.

After Creation

Whichever path you choose, the result is a fully configured agent that appears in the Agents tab, ready for testing and deployment.
