New Zoho MCP and Zia Agent Permissions in Zoho CRM

Give Users the Right Access with the New Zoho MCP and Zia Permissions

Zoho CRM now gives administrators more control over how users access CRM data and perform actions through Zoho MCP and Zia Agents. Two new permissions have been added under Developer Permissions: API Access for Zoho MCP and API Access for Zia Agents.

Two Granular Controls per Permission

Each of the two permissions is split further into:

  • Get Data. Lets a user retrieve CRM data without performing any action.
  • Execute Actions. Lets a user perform actions in CRM, such as updating a record.

This lets an admin tailor access to exactly what each user needs, rather than giving every user the same all-or-nothing level of access to AI-driven CRM interactions.

A Worked Example

A sales rep who only needs insight can be given Get Data access, letting them retrieve information such as today's sales or total leads, without being able to change anything. If that same rep also needs to update CRM records, for example changing a deal's sale value, the admin can additionally enable Execute Actions for them.

Where to Configure This

Both permissions live under Developer Permissions on the relevant profile in Zoho CRM, alongside CRM's other API and developer-facing controls.

Availability

Available on Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate, CRM Plus, and Zoho One editions, for customers in the US, IN, EU, AU, and JP data centres. Rollout is currently live in the IN data centre only, with other data centres following in phases, so it may not be visible in your account yet.
For what this means specifically for Zoho MCP connections, see the new Zoho MCP permission in Zoho CRM. For Zia Agents specifically, see the new Zia Agents permission in Zoho CRM.
