How to Create a Rule Using Zoho Desk Automation Studio

Creating a rule in Automation Studio takes just a few steps, whether you're building something simple or a flow with several branches.

Note: Automation Studio is currently being opened on a request basis. To request access, raise a request using Zoho's Early Access Form.

Steps to create a rule

  1. Log in as an administrator. You'll need Administrator privileges in Zoho Desk to build a rule.
  2. Open Automation Studio. Go to Setup, then Automation, then Automation Studio.
  3. Start a new rule. Select the module, and department if required, then click Create Rule.
  4. Name the rule. On the Rule Information page, enter a rule name and description, and select a module from the Module drop-down.
  5. Choose an event. On the Rule Configuration page, select the event that should trigger the rule. The events available depend on the module you selected.
  6. Add criteria if needed. Specify criteria for the event if you only want the rule to fire under certain conditions.
  7. Add your blocks. Click the plus icon and choose the block type you need: Action to carry out a task, If to add conditional logic, Fork to split the flow into parallel branches, or Delay to pause before the next step.
  8. Save the rule. Once all your criteria and blocks are in place, click Save Rule.
