Data can be gathered from many sources, a purchased record database, a trade show, a marketing campaign, and so on. Bringing records from these external sources into Zoho CRM is one of the most important lead creation activities in any business, which is exactly why it's worth getting the import process right and avoiding duplicate or messy data from the outset.
Two ways to bring data in
- Importing data to individual modules. Individual files can be imported, one at a time, into a specific module such as Leads, Contacts, or Accounts.
- Migrating data from other accounts. The Data Migration wizard helps you bring data across from other CRM systems, letting you attach a CSV file for the module being migrated, set the date and time format used in the file so values aren't ignored, and choose to be emailed once the import completes. You'll still need to map every mandatory field in the file to its equivalent in Zoho CRM.
Availability: Users need Import permission on their profile to access this feature at all.

Importing users
Admins can also import users into a Zoho CRM account using the Import User option, and update their details during the same import. This is a separate process from importing module records or notes, and isn't covered in the sections above.
