Zoho Campaigns 3.0 started life with new sign-ups, and Zoho is now bringing it to existing accounts. Every part of the product has been redesigned. WhatsApp joins email and SMS as a channel of its own, analytics now cover all three channels, and Zia provides AI-driven content generation. All of this comes with the move, so migrating an account means upgrading to every one of these new and updated features. Zoho calls the current version Zoho Campaigns 2.0 and the new one Zoho Campaigns 3.0.
Timing, confirmed by Zoho: backend-assisted migration for existing users is expected to be available after
23 October 2026. Zoho asks customers to raise a support request after that date to start the process, and 1 Cloud Consultants can help you with that at
zoho@1cloudconsultants.com. Self-service migration will be rolled out in phases, and Zoho will share updates as its rollout plan is finalised. No date has been given for it.
Before you do anything: migration is one-way. Once an account has been switched to 3.0 there is no way back, and Zoho support cannot revert a completed migration. It also moves the whole organisation at once, so individual users cannot migrate on their own.
What is new in 3.0
- A redesigned experience across every surface of the product, including a new campaign creation flow.
- WhatsApp as a channel alongside email and SMS.
- Analytics across all three channels.
- AI-driven content generation with Zia, built into each channel, so you can create content for email, SMS, and WhatsApp in one place.
- Enhanced automation, smarter reporting, and improved contact management.
What Zoho's migration guides cover
| Topic |
What it covers |
| Setup before migration | For some accounts, topics, integrations, user roles, and SMS numbers need to be configured beforehand. |
| During migration | Some things pause and some keep running. Workflows pause until migration finishes, then pick up where they left off, although contacts who meet a trigger while a workflow is paused are skipped. Scheduled campaigns, API calls, syncs, signup forms, and webhooks keep going. |
| Deprecated features | Each is listed by what happens to your past data: migrated, partially migrated, or not migrated. |
Our guides, in the order to read them
- Prerequisites for Migrating to Zoho Campaigns 3.0, the checklist to work through before switching, with how the switch works and troubleshooting.
- What's Changed in Zoho Campaigns 3.0, module by module, for features that still exist but behave differently.
- What's Deprecated in Zoho Campaigns 3.0, for features that are gone and what happens to your past data.
The five things most likely to catch an account out
- Standard Users become Editors. The Editor role cannot send campaigns or manage contacts, lists, segments, or tags. Plan the role changes before you switch.
- Custom view syncs are removed at the switch. Zoho has confirmed that data syncs for modules such as Contacts, Leads, and custom modules migrate seamlessly, but syncs built on a custom view do not. Note them and rebuild them in 3.0 using Import from Custom View or a segment.
- Workflows pause during the migration, and contacts who meet a trigger in that window are skipped rather than queued. Choose a quiet window.
- Some integrations disappear with no replacement: Office 365, PayPal, and Google Contacts. Export what you need first.
- Some scoring does not migrate. Custom scoring rules with more than one condition are not migrated, and campaign-based scoring is deprecated in favour of the Response Action component. Recreated webhooks also behave differently, with a wider scope and the data in the body rather than a query parameter.
How migration will be opened up
Zoho is opening migration in two phases. In the first, every migration goes through the Zoho Campaigns team, who review your account and tell you what will and will not migrate. In the second, an administrator can start the switch themselves once the Action required list in the account is clear. Our prerequisites guide explains both in full.
