Managing Deal Registrations and Resolving Conflicts in Zoho PRM

Zoho PRM: Managing Deal Registrations and Resolving Conflicts

This guide covers the day-to-day work of reviewing partner deal registrations and dealing with conflicts. It assumes Deal Registration is already configured; if not, start with Configuring Deal Registration.

The Deal Registration Module

Once configuration is complete, the Deal Registration module appears in the system. It shows the deals submitted by partners, the approval status of each, and the records they were converted into. Partner managers can also create deal registrations directly and associate partners manually when needed.

Spotting and Resolving Conflicts

When a registration contains duplicate information, the system detects the conflict automatically. Opening the record shows a message at the top saying a conflict was found.

  1. Open the deal registration record.
  2. Click View Conflict in the message at the top.
  3. Review what it shows: the existing duplicate records, the fields that caused the conflict, and the partner associated with those records.
  4. Decide whether to approve or reject.

Seeing which partner is associated with the existing records is what lets you judge whether the new registration really is a duplicate claim on the same customer.

Approving a Registration

Approving saves the record as a valid deal. The system converts the registration into an Account record and a Deal record, and ownership and partner association are maintained automatically.

Account creation depends on the customer type. As set out in the configuration guide, an Account is created only for a New Customer. For an existing customer, only a Deal is created.

Rejecting a Registration

  1. Choose to reject. A side panel appears.
  2. Select a rejection reason from the drop-down list.
  3. Optionally add comments for extra context.

Giving a clear reason and comment helps the partner understand the decision, which supports the transparency this process is meant to provide.
