Creating a Consent Email in Zoho Campaigns

Zoho Campaigns: Creating a Consent Email

A consent email in Zoho Campaigns is a message you send to obtain explicit permission from a subscriber for a specific processing purpose, where Consent is your chosen lawful basis.

How to create one

  1. Set your lawful basis to Consent. In GDPR Settings, choose Consent as the lawful basis for the relevant purpose or mailing list.
  2. Build the consent email. Create an email that clearly explains what you're asking consent for, and includes a way for the subscriber to actively confirm.
  3. Send it. Send the consent email to the relevant list or segment.
Note: If you have more than one processing purpose, each requiring Consent as the lawful basis, you can create and send a separate consent email for each purpose, rather than a single blanket consent request covering everything.

What consent must genuinely capture

Under GDPR, valid consent needs to be a clear, affirmative action, not a pre-ticked box or assumed silence, and the subscriber needs to understand specifically what they're consenting to. A vague or bundled consent request risks not standing up as genuine consent if challenged.

For the broader GDPR feature set, see our article on Zoho Campaigns GDPR, and for tracking consent status, see Manage Consent.
